Why boys are dumb

I am so behind on blogging that I don't even want to try and catch up. Instead I will tell you a little story about why boys are dumb.
The other weekend, Aaron headed down to Lake Powell with one of our good friends. Our friend wanted to go and look at a boat that he wants to buy- that is another story altogether. Anyway, I have been trying to get Aaron to understand why I love Lake Powell for the last 5 years. This trip did the trick. Not only did he finally understand but he also now wants a boat. He has been combing the classifieds trying to find a boat. I happened to be on KSL one day and saw that a guy had put up an add for a free boat to anyone who could get it out of his yard. I knew my husband would see that ad. The next day Brinley and I came home from running errands to this in our driveway.

Oh and he had help of course

What's that babe? Boys are dumb?

Ha Ha, my wife says boys are dumb. That's funny, my wife says the same thing

Good thing he is so cute (Looks like he has some Captain in him)

So the boat is now in my garage. To be continued...

This little girl is growing up so fast. I love her so much. I am going back to Monday through Friday the first week of September and I am so sad about it. I will miss my 7 days off with her. I am trying really hard to look on the bright side. At least I know she is always well taken care of with her Daddy.

She is obsessed with this baby doll that my mom got her a while back. We have to take it everywhere with us. This stage cracks me up.

I have lots more updates to give but I am running out of blogging time. I will tell you one new thing from the last few months. Brinley was diagnosed with a severe tree nut allergy. She is especially allergic to cashews. We now have epi-pens and benedryl with us at all times. Anyway please don't give her any food without checking with me or Aaron first. You would be surprised at how many things have tree nuts, or traces of tree nuts. I really hope I update again soon but I tend to make that promise a lot so we will see!

Happy Father's Day

Just about 5 years ago I fell in love with the most amazing man in the world.

Then he became my best friend.

Then we decided to get married.

And it was one of the greatest, happiest days of my life.

A few years later I told him I wanted to have a baby

He talked to my belly every day and he loved that little girl before she was ever born

He told me I was beautiful, even when I looked like this

And then she was here and she was Daddy's girl from the very beginning

He loved her from the moment she was created and loved her even more the moment she was born

He supported me and my career and stayed home with her. He took her everywhere

He is a natural at the Daddy thing and I couldn't ask for more.

I am so lucky that he loves us both so much. I know how much he will teach her

I know he will always protect her

I know he will always love her.

Happy Father's Day Aaron! You are the most amazing father and husband. You take such good care of both of us. You do everything and take care of everything and I couldn't be more grateful. I love you so much and so does Brinley.

Happy Father's Day to the other Dad's in my life as well.

To my Dad who still worries about me and takes care of me. I love you Dad. Thank you for all you have done throughout my life and all you continue to do. Thank you for being such a good Papa to Brinley

To Tom who has treated me like I am his own daughter from Day 1. Thank you for being such a good Dad to us and Papa to Brinley. You are amazing and we love you.

To Grandpa D. Thank you for loving our little family so much. I love to watch you and Aaron together and see how much he is like you. Thank you for being there for all of us. We love you so much.

To Grandpa Petty who called me every week without fail throughout my entire pregnancy just to check on me. Who has always made me feel like a part of the family. Thank you for loving us and caring about us. I wish I had a picture of you!!!!

To Ira, thank you or being a good Grandpa and Dad. I know you are not feeling so great right now and I hope you feel better soon. We love you.

Finally to all the Mom's I didn't do a blog post about on Mother's Day. I am so sorry. I can only excuse myself with a plea of laziness. I am so grateful for all that you do and for making the men above who they are. I will make it up to you next year. I love you all more than you will ever know.

Moab trip and new family members!!

Well we went to Moab with some good friends of ours and had a blast. The girls hung out at the condo while us boys did some wheeling. It was brinley's first time to Moab, the place where I asked Amber to marry me, and where we got married. It was awesome to share it with Brinley! We did a lot of swimming, which by the way is Brinley's favorite thing to do, she is completely fearless when it comes to water. I also got two new family members to join are little GANG, since we live on the west side! The first one I got was a small Cockatiel named DUKE after one of my favorite characters from Edward Abbey's novel "THE MONKEY WRENCH GANG". He has only taken to Brinley and Amber, he hates me. He wants to be in any room that Brinley is in, he jumps in the bath with her and yells whenever he is away from her. The other is a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, her name is Savannah and she is 2 years old, she should live anywhere between 40 and 70 years, so she should be with us for a while to come. I consider her my bird but sometimes I wonder. Anyways here are some pics, Amber will be posting soon, she is too busy working so I can sit on my butt at home and play with Brinley and the birds, she does a much better job with these post than I do! I would also like to let everyone know, because Amber is too humble to say it. She just got a promotion, because she works so incredibly hard. She holds a very nice position with the the U of U now, congrats baby, you so deserve it and everybody knows it. Thanks for working so hard. Love you!!!!

Easter Dress

"Hey Brinley, can Mommy please take a picture of you in your pretty Easter Dress?"
"Only if you also take a picture of my new puppy"
"Ok Brin"

"Now, how about a picture of just you?"
"I'm sorry, Mommy I didn't hear you, I am too busy dancing"

" Hey Mommy, I found your library card while I was dismantling your wallet!

"Can we go to the library, pleeeease?"
"Sure Brinley, just let me get one picture ok?"

"Okay Mommy, Cheeeeeeese!"

Love you beautiful Brinley

This sweet little girl is so busy all the time, always moving. Please don't mind the mess. Thank goodness Aaron is home today and whipped the house back into shape. He is so much better at this staying home stuff than me but I love every minute of it.

Spring is finally on its way

I am back home after a long 7 days of work. I love my time off with Brinley. Today we are sitting outside playing and enjoying the sunshine. Brinley is coloring with sidewalk chalk and asking me to blow bubbles while I sneak in a blog post. She loves to be outside and will watch the kids in the neighborhood if they are out and about. She runs to the fence and wants the dogs outside with us. She calls them Mar-mar and Sssge (Marley and Sage).

Brinley hasn't had any more bad allergy attacks just some hives here and there. Our pediatrician is sending us to a pediatric allergy specialist. Unfortunately the next available appointment isn't until the middle of June. So we will just have to keep a close eye on her until then. Here she is on a hive day being a ballerina
She brings us her tutus to put on and then dances around the house. My mom's friend and nail lady, Nancy gave Brinley these two beautiful outfits.

She loves to take everything out of my wallet. She is such a goof.

Brinley has quite the little personality these days. She is learning so much. She talks and signs like crazy. She wants nothing to do with men she doesn't know. Today while we were playing outside Aaron and his boss stopped by for a bit and she steered clear of him. She loves other kids and hugs and kisses them. She has been going to a class at the little gym on Mondays and she loves it. She is currently obsessed with Sesame Street. She will bring me the movies and beg until I give in and put one in for her. She is also obsessed with Cheetos. She tries to say Cheetos but usually gives up and says snack instead. I try to keep them in an upper cupboard so she won't get into them all day and she points to the cupboard they are in. She is also obsessed with Gerber Yogurt melts. She will eat them by the bag if we let her.

She really is the best little kid in the world. She is so affectionate, she always has a hug or kiss for Mommy and Daddy. I couldn't ask for more. We just love her to pieces. I am excited for this summer and all the fun it will bring.

Aaron will be starting a new blog soon. As you all know Aaron loves to have projects. He has been working his tail off and now he has another fun project. We are renovating a 1973 travel trailer. As soon as we figure out a name for it I will send out the new blog address. We will be needing lots of opinions and we will show you the progress along the way. I love having such a handyman husband. Love you babe.
